Both of these stories were also inspired by recent manga chapters, so I can appreciate them even more than I normally would. Youkai Hakkai is quite hot and this fic certainly uses that to its advantage. Very well-written and porny, a good combination.

Sanzo/Gojyo/Hakkai, NC-17 Threesome fic is tricky, but can be done well if the author stays in character and this author manages it. I like the way the author portrays Sanzo as not overly angsty, but just someone who's never spent a lot of time thinking about sex. And it's not rushed at all, but builds up nicely to an extremely (ahem) satisfying conclusion.

Gojyo/Hakkai, NC-17 Another good first time story set in the burial arc that involves a spoon. The author again does a nice job building up all the tension between them, before things climax. (heh.) I also think the author does a good job making things realistic by showing Gojyo's denial of the situation. Another very nice story!

PG. Post-ascension. Um. I suppose you can see any pairing, threesome or foursome or no-some you like. From Sam’s POV mostly. This story is indescribable. The writing is fluid and poetic, as I have come to expect from this author, and the subject of the story just suits her style so completely. She weaves and winds a fascinating world and tale and there is just some gorgeous team interaction with moments of both sadness and happiness and perfect characterisation. This is, without a doubt, a story like no other.

The characters are just incredibly written, and I love the presentation not only of Jack and Daniel’s relationship, but also of Jack and Thor’s, and the whole group’s relationship to the world they find themselves in. This world is written so very vividly and is so intensely terrifying, and the idea a truly moving one. This fic makes me cry, and stands as an example of how fanfic can be just as good, if not better, than published work.

It has a wonderfully mythic, calm feel to it, making it unlike most other KuroFai pieces you see. The character’s voices are strong and true and the author clearly has a firm insight into these two wonderful relationship, and the kind of relationship they could have.

Drinking Party by queasy G
This fic has a lovely feeling to it. Haruka and Kantarou’s relationship is beaytifully portrayed and their dialogue is just fantastic. It has hints of that darker side of this pair’s relationship too; Kantarou’s power over Haruka, Haruka’s mistrust of his master. And this is what I like most about this pair (apart from the fact that they are just completely in love). Short, well-written and an interesting look at their relationship.

Hurt/comfort. What a lovely thing you are. This fic has humour, angst and love all mixed together to make a really well composed story. Nicely in character for the most part, it’s nice to see Haruka and Kantarou’s fluffy side now and again.

Okay, these aren't exactly anime or manga recs but I figured I'd put them up anyway. Despite Kirk/Spock being the first slash fandom I haven't really found a multitude of good fics. I think a lot of the best fics were only published in zines and are no longer available. I particularly like Killashandra's fic which can all be found here - Killashandra's Adventures in Melodrama. Kirk/Spock NC-17 This story was apparently the first fan fic that was ever published on the internet which I think is interesting considering how well written it is. This story takes place right after Kirk is promoted to Admiral and the Enterprise has been taken away, so obviously things are not going well for him. He decides to take control by making a move with Spock. Most of this story also takes place in New Orleans which I particularly enjoyed.

PG-13 Ah I really love this fic. Technically it’s AU, but seeing as Tsubasa is really just one big AU maybe it’s not. Anyway, it focuses on the Fai and Kurogane of Shurano Country. Yes I know they were one and the same in canon, but not in this fic. The author takes that canon and skews it to fit a wonderful tale of a Fai and Kurogane so like, yet different, from the Kurogane and Fai we know and love. Then, of course, they meet their doubles… Moving, funny and really well written. A rare treat, and a rare instance of my actually enjoying an AU fic (which isn’t really an AU fic anyway).

The author does a wonderful job of capturing the feel of the anime/manga with a lot of details, especially about Go. I’m very interested in seeing how this will turn out.
